Alumil celebrates 20 years of production in Serbia

The company Alumil, founded in 1988 in Greece, which relies on the tradition and knowledge of the Milonas family, is celebrating 20 years of production in Serbia. 

As a leader in the production of aluminum profiles, with strict quality control of the entire production process, with 400 employees in Serbia, a strong team of 20 engineers and consulting architects, 6 sales and distribution centers, and an impressive showroom in Belgrade, the company offers unique solutions, with innovations that meet the needs not only of the Serbian market, but also globally. 

The importance of the factory in Serbia for the Alumil group is shown by the previous investments in the production plant in Nova Pazova. From production in one shift, the company realized that there was a need to work in three shifts by expanding its capacity and installing modern equipment. Thanks to the new investments, a hall with an area of 7,000 m2 was first extended and another extrusion line was installed, so that the possibility of producing profiles doubled. Today, the Alumil company with its production facility in Nova Pazova has two extrusion lines with a capacity of 14,000 tons per year. 

Logistics capacities were expanded with the addition of a new hall with an area of 6,000 m2, and in 2017, an ecological plasticization process was introduced – ‘chrome-free’. With a new investment of almost half a million euros, a new thermal break line was opened, which replaced two existing ones, and in 2020, lines with automatic CNC machines were introduced for CNC processing and subsequent cutting of profiles. The purchase of a modern industrial nitriding furnace replaced the two existing ones, and the recent investment in new plasticizing lines rounded off the twenty-year investment of 42 million euros in the factory in Serbia. The company emphasizes that every year they continuously invest both in production and in employee training.

The continuous goal of our research and development is to offer unique solutions, with innovative features, that fully cover the needs of our clients’, said Stylianos Tsoktouridis, general manager of Alumil YU Industry. 

Alumil in Serbia, with close to 70% of its production capacity, has directed its industrial profiles to export to European Union countries, while with 30% of its production, it meets the current needs of the domestic market, most of which are architectural profiles. 

When it comes to doing business in Serbia, there are numerous benefits brought by local production. They can be seen through the shortening of the supply chain, i.e. the reduction of delivery time, which increases efficiency, as well as product inventory. Shortening the supply chain also leads to a reduction in the need for long-distance transportation of goods and energy consumption, which is in line with environmentally friendly practices. A sustainable future for businesses and the environment includes reusing resources and investing in domestic production, which helps the development of the domestic economy. In addition to all of the above, local production also contributes to the recognizable leadership position of the Alumil company. In this regard, it is important to point out that Alumil is the bearer of the "Čuvarkuća" trademark, which is part of the ‘Made in Serbia’ project of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce, which supports domestic products and producers, while educating consumers about their quality and domestic origin.
