Dams Around the World Continue to Violate the Basic Criteria of Sustainable Development

WWF - World Wildlife Fund for Nature has presented a new report through which it is criticizing the dam projects around the world which do not respect the fundamental sustainability criteria. The WWF report "Seven Sins of Dam Building" numerous projects received a negative assessment from the organizations fighting for nature preservation. Along with the controversial projects around the world like the Belo Monte dam in Brazil and the Xayaburi dam in Laos, some projects from Europe also made it to the list, including the construction of dams on the Moraca River in Montenegro.
