Equipment for extinguishing fires in inaccessible terrain for residents of the Toplica region

During the summer of this year, residents of the Toplica district faced hundreds of fires that broke out randomly, often on inaccessible terrain. Many families in the villages of the municipalities of Prokuplje, Kuršumlija, and Žitorađa suffered great losses - houses, barns, auxiliary facilities burned down, and many people also lost their livestock and pets. The lack of firefighters, water, and difficult access to the terrain made extinguishing the fire even more difficult. 

In order to help the communities be more prepared in the future, McDonald's Serbia donated money, and with the help of the Ana and Vlada Divac Foundation, 27 knapsacks were purchased for firefighting. The equipment was distributed with the support of the Educational and Humanitarian Organization EHO from Prokuplje to residents of the villages of Dubovo, Kožince, Statovac, Žitni Potok, Zlata, Merovac, Bresnica, Prekopuce, and Zdravinje, in the municipalities of Prokuplje and Žitorađa.
