Five New Natural Sites Inscribed on UNESCO''s World Heritage List

Namib sand sea (Namibia) Tiansan Xinjiang (China), National Park Tajik (Tajikistan) Mount Etna (Italy) and El Pinaki and Great Altar Desert (Mexico), are the five new natural sites inscribed on UNESCO''s World Heritage List, following the recommendations of IUCN. This year’s, 37th session of the World Heritage Committee is to be held in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.

Serbia recently joined a large project for the preservation of the Dinarides, which involves six countries in the region. Dinarides have been identified as an area with potential for inclusion on the UNESCO World Heritage List and the IUCN will provide the necessary technical support to Serbia in this important project.
