ICCO World PR report 2020

International Communications Consultancy Organization (ICCO) has published its' annual PR report that provides predictions on the composition and direction of the public relations industry, an analysis of the current situation of the global public relations and communications industry, how the global industry has behaved over the past year, as well as what is predicted to happen in the next few years. Three key areas of investment for 2021 were identified, namely community management on social networks (32%), creation of multimedia content (31%) and influencer marketing (29%). In addition, the research showed that among the key areas for the PR industry are research, data and planning (29%), analytics, legal affairs (22% each), creativity (20%), digital production (19%), marketing and business development, as well as professional development (with 15% each).
As one of the great challenges for the public relations profession for 2021 the PR report sees finding new talents, which, according to Francis Ingham, Chief Executive at ICCO, will be especially evident during the recovery from the crisis caused by the COVID pandemic.
