The McDonald's company is part of the campaign "New Year's humanitarian garden",within which its employees made decorations and decorated a Christmas tree in the "Jevremovac" Botanical Garden. The employees were helped in making decorations and decorating the Christmas tree by young people with developmental disabilities from the Creative Education Center, with which McDonald's has cooperated for almost 20 years. McDonald's was the first company that enabled the inclusion of these young people in its restaurants.
The "New Year's Humanitarian Garden" is organized by the "Jevremovac" Botanical Garden in cooperation with the Serbian Philanthropic Forum and the Ana and Vlade Divac Foundation, as well as the Charity Coalition.
This action involves the leasing of trees by companies, embassies and other organizations whose employees participated in the decoration.
As in previous years, half of the collected funds will be allocated to the Botanical Garden "Jevremovac" for the restoration of the plant fund and the organization of educational programs for visitors from vulnerable social categories, and the other half for supporting the projects of civil society organizations and schools throughout Serbia as part of the Year of Kindness, which promote activism, solidarity and charity among children and young people.
You can vote for the McDonald's Christmas tree live in the Garden, but also through the Instagram and Facebook pages of the "Jevremovac" Botanical Garden — by simply liking the post, until midnight on December 20.
The winning tree will be considered the one that wins the largest number of votes from the audience and expert jury and will be announced on December 21 at a media event at the Garden.
