The MOL Serbia company marked the jubilee of the company's work in Serbia – 20 successful years. At the reception, in addition to reviewing the past two decades of work, the company's management also presented plans for the next period.
The MOL Serbia company came to Serbia in 2003, when it first started operating wholesale fuel, which still represents a significant segment of the company's business, given that MOL Serbia is at the very top of companies dealing with wholesale fuel. After only two years (in 2005), the first service station was opened in Belgrade, which is still located at the same place in Višnjica. During two decades of operation, the company took care to constantly innovate and offer users in Serbia, in addition to the highest quality fuels, the gastro segment, as well as LPG, polymers, bitumen, lubricants, auto chemicals. This is supported by the fact that Fresh Corners have been operating within MOL Serbia service stations since 2015. That was when the first Fresh Corner was opened at Horgoš 2, and since then we have had 45 Fresh Corners where more than 4 million cups of coffee have been sold, more than 150,000 hotdogs, and more than 340,000 sandwiches.
"Since arriving on the Serbian market, we have invested more than RSD 2.9 billion, and in 2019 we opened a fuel depot in Sremski Karlovci, and that was the largest investment of the MOL Group in Serbia. We are constantly developing our retail network of service stations in order to be as close as possible to our customers. We currently have more than 70 service stations. Besides fuel, we also try to provide our customers with a place where they can enjoy gastronomic products such as coffee or hot dogs, we also want to be a good neighbor and invest part of the profit in the local community. So far, we have invested more than RSD 11.4 million through various socially useful activities. One of the CSR projects of which we are extremely proud is our campaign called "Game is for children, children's life is not a game", launched in 2018 in cooperation with the Agency for Traffic Safety, with the aim of raising the awareness of drivers parents about the importance of correct positioning child seats in cars. Our employees are the most important resource of the company and without their dedication, effort and commitment we would not be this successful. They also engage in volunteer actions to help our community function as well as possible and thus preserve the environment and always be with those who need our support. We will continue to develop our retail network, but also to be a reliable partner to our customers and the economy of Serbia," said the general director of MOL Serbia, Milenko Janković.
In addition to the expansion of the retail network, the company will pay special attention in the coming period to the continuous development of its employees. The market is undergoing various changes due to the global economic and geopolitical situation. However, experience has shown that a good team of collaborators, quality planning and management can lead to the desired results. MOL Serbia plans to further improve its services in Serbia in accordance with the MOL Group's updated Strategy 2030+ "Shape Tomorrow", in order to position itself as one of the leaders in the retail segment and the provision of mobility services.
The MOL Group's vision is clear – the goal is for the company to be a key player in the circular economy through low carbon emissions, but also to offer alternative fuel, as well as products and services for people on the move. Additionally, in recent years, MOL has been committed to the development of EV infrastructure and is positively influencing the adoption of EVs in Central and Eastern Europe. The plan is to install chargers for electric vehicles at certain service stations in Serbia as soon as the legislation on electric chargers at gas stations is adopted.
