Submissions for the Neum Underwater Film Festival open until August 2 - Don’t miss the chance to dive into the world of underwater cinema!

The Neum Underwater Film Festival (UFF), a unique international festival dedicated to underwater cinematography, proudly invites filmmakers to submit their work for the fifth edition of the festival, which will take place from August 28 to 30, 2025, at Hotel Zenit in Neum. The festival is organized by the Association for Supporting the Promotion of Quality Standards "Standard." 

UFF offers an opportunity for both amateur and professional filmmakers from around the world to showcase their work and connect with the international film community. The festival provides a platform for young talents, as well as a chance for all underwater enthusiasts to enjoy films exploring ecological, cultural, and scientific themes related to underwater ecosystems. Film Submissions 

Organizers invite filmmakers to submit their underwater films no later than August 2, 2025. Films of all genres and formats are eligible for submission, ranging from documentaries, shorts, and feature films to animations, as long as they explore the underwater world in some way. 

Submissions are open via the platforms www.uff.ba and FilmFreeway. 

As in previous years, alongside the main program, there is Fest&Val, a special program dedicated to young authors. Through this initiative, young filmmakers will have the opportunity to showcase their work and gain valuable experience in an international setting. Additionally, the festival offers educational workshops focused on underwater ecology, underwater filming safety, and filmmaking techniques. 

Awards and Categories 

Films will compete in six prestigious categories, including Grand Prix, Best Ecological Film, Best Music, Best Cinematography, Best Bosnia and Herzegovina Film, and Audience Award. An international jury will present the awards, and the winners will gain global recognition and opportunities for further professional development. 

Networking and Global Visibility 

UFF also hosts a networking event bringing together young filmmakers, producers, media, and cultural institutions from around the globe, enabling the creation of new collaborations and professional connections. The festival will also feature live-streamed screenings, giving films and their creators global visibility by allowing audiences worldwide to experience their work. Through this event, Neum, Herzegovina, the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Bosnia and Herzegovina are being positioned as important centers for cultural exchange, environmental awareness, and creative expression. 

The Neum Underwater Film Festival is not only an opportunity for filmmakers but also for all lovers of film and nature!
