A success story of Ericsson application awards finalists
"The future will be all about getting connected – with people and with things. Mobile applications will become essential to these connections and developers therefore have a key role to play in enabling people to connect and live better."- says Daniele Albanese, Italian team leader. The team developed ChilDroid, application which enables parents to locate their children and children to instantly contact parents when they need them using SMS technology. "It’s a wonderful chance to learn how to develop great applications." The Italian team has great benefits from its application to the Ericsson Application Awards. "After the contest, newspapers started to write about us and several companies expressed an interest in our technology," Albanese says. The team also became involved with Ericsson Italy’s Ego Programme, which provides growth and development opportunities to young entrepreneurs and talented students in the ICT sector. As a result of the logistical, organizational and consultancy support granted by the program, the ChilDroid application is set for commercial release in early 2011.
