The Challenge of Compliance
Josif Jušković, Director of the Legal Affairs Division at Galenika, speaks about the importance of compliance with regulations, supplier standards, reputation, and the trust that the Galenika brand has been building for 80 years.

Galenika is part of the Brazilian NC Group and operates in the markets of Europe, Asia, and Africa. We are in the process of further expanding into international markets, and on that path, compliance has been present from the very beginning, emphasizes Josif Jušković, Director of the Legal Affairs Division at Galenika. Responding to the observation that Galenika is intensively internationalizing its operations, and to the question of how important compliance with the regulations of a new country is for entering new markets, Jušković points out that Galenika approaches each market as a separate project.

“We analyze the legislation and applicable regulations, align our processes, and only then do we build our business model. That is the only way for growth to be sustainable and for our reputation not to be put at risk,” says Josif Jušković.

How important is it that the partners you work with in new markets meet certain standards?

Our requirements for partners are very clear: compliance with regulations, transparency, and high quality standards. If that chain weakens in one place, the risk spreads to everyone. That is why we form partnerships only with those who share the principle of responsible business and who understand how important compliance is in the pharmaceutical industry.
