Together for a Greener Belgrade: MOL Serbia Continues Its Tree-Planting Initiative

Employees and volunteers of MOL Serbia continued this year with the environmental initiative “Bringing Nature Back to the City.” At the end of June, a new tree-planting campaign was organized, during which as many as 31 trees were planted along the Zemun Quay – one of the most visited and beautiful parts of Belgrade.

At the end of last year, as part of the same initiative, 30 trees were planted at Ušće, and this year’s addition includes 2 red plum saplings, 15 catalpa trees, 8 pine trees, 2 willows, and 4 maples.

The tree-planting initiative is part of the broader corporate commitment of the MOL Group to more sustainable operations, in line with its SHAPE TOMORROW strategic direction. The aim of the campaign is not only to enhance urban areas but also to raise awareness of the importance of environmental protection and the responsibility we all share—as individuals and companies—toward our planet.

“We believe that true impact is measured by concrete actions. With today’s initiative, we want to set an example and show how positive change in our environment can be achieved through joint effort. A sustainable future is not something we can postpone—it is shaped today, with every tree we plant and every choice we make,” said Sanja Švonja, Corporate Marketing and Communications Expert at MOL Serbia.

This environmental initiative aligns with the goals of the SHAPE TOMORROW strategy, through which the MOL Group steers its operations toward energy transition, natural resource protection, and strengthening ties with local communities. By focusing on responsible management and local engagement, MOL aims to become a model of sustainable development in the region and to inspire others to join similar projects.

MOL Serbia will continue to invest in activities that contribute to a healthier and greener environment as part of its long-term commitment to socially responsible business practices.
