Who died? Twitter wasn’t sure!
An unusual scene took place yesterday in the world of social networks. Hash tag #nowthatchersdead, related to the recent death of former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, caused great confusion among users on Twitter. By dividing the hashtag into the words it consists of, instead of a "Now Thatcher’s Dead" solution, which was the original idea of tag’s creators, users understood "Now That Is Cher Dead," a tag giving the news of death of the popular singer Cher which was soon after denied. This news, of course, caused huge stir on the social network, with many users expressing condolences.
